On May 27, 2010, President Viktor Yanukovych stated during a visit to Lviv that Ukraine "will start working on the official nomination of our country as the holder of the Winter Olympic Games in Carpathians".

This bid for the Winter Olympics in 2022 was confirmed by Ravil Safiullin, said on 11th September, 2011. The bid will be lodged in 2014, but $500 million will be allocated to the Games in the 2011 budget, he said.

The Winter Olympics has transformed another relatively unknown ski resort – Sochi in Russia. Prices went up 5 times after it was chosen to host the 2014 event. A huge amount of government money has been spent upgrading facilities and a similar process is likely for Slavske if chosen.

Already, smart money is flowing into Slavske. A Ukrainian Billionaire has just acquired an stategic site in Slavske. Important government ministers have been seen visiting. Now is the time to invest before the wider public wakes up to what’s happening. Prices in Eagle Valley range from 1140 Euros to 1450 Euros m2, a very modest amount for such an upmarket development.

Strong rental demand
The railway passes through Slavsk and road from Lviv has been resurfaced for much of its route. Ukrainians pour into Slavsk in their thousands, for the skiing and in summer, to enjoy the beautiful Carpathian mountains. 50,000 in one week-end is possible. Rental rates are high and it’s almost impossible to find accommodation in peak season. Eagle Valley with it far superior facilities to anything in the region will dominate the rental market. Its mix of conventional apartments and stay-by-night hotel studios is ideal to take the cream of this rental demand.

The development is only 30 kilomtres from Poland and near to no less than three other EU countries, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary.
